Ghosts
As I pass by a bear
I will remember you
As I hear a trumpet’s reverie
I will remember you
As I feel the warmth of a sweater
I will remember you
As I watch the designs made by skates on fresh ice
I will remember you
As I look at a yellow rose
I remember you
As I see someone smile
I remember you
As I touch fur
I remember you
As I take pen in hand
I remember you
The marks I make on the ice before any one gets there
Makes me remember?.
Without you, I couldn’t do it
When I read a magazine
I remember you
All of these things
I hold dear to me
You never knew that those “little things”
Ensured your immortality
I love you and I wish you
The best in the present, the future,
And whatever comes beyond.
