A Little Quirk
Questions comment and criticism Always welcome
How is it that you captivate me?
With a glance, taking a breath
Or with a picture.
I don’t know you,
You definitely don’t know me,
However, I have this unexplainable attraction for your being.
You patrol your area with the greatest of ease,
That smile of yours that says, “Come as you please”
In five seconds or 15 minutes,
You look as if you will never tire,
Whatever you do sets the girls on fire.
I don’t know how when or even why,
You’ve captured my heart and made it fly.
You’re everything I want, and nothing I can have
What is in that look that seems to taunt.
How do you handle the girls, the looks, the stares if utter bliss,
Playing with curls, dreaming of one sweet, slow, kiss . . .
From YOUR lips.
Perfectly straight teeth,
Chocolate Brown eyes,
The picture is almost complete,
As that is no surprise.
How do you do it?
With that boyish charm,
Making me wish . . .
I was the one on your arm.
No matter how much I hope or wish,
There is one reality that I know,
In my own little niche,
You and I will remain strangers the fates deemed it so.
I think of all your superficial qualities,
Your virtues, your vice,
I’d probably have better odds throwing dice.
All those girls want something of you
That can go as easily as it came.
What I want isn’t easy to name.
I want my children to look up into my eyes
The way yours do when you’re on the ice with the guys.
I want to experience the utter joy of being
And most of all . . .
I want them to have your rosy cheeks.
